Construction Accident Lawsuit Filed After Wrongful Death
In January 2009, a Las Vegas, Nevada man was killed after his pickup truck crashed into a construction vehicle a 4 a.m. The victim turned onto a road and hit the large piece of equipment. According to a lawsuit filed by the victim’s family, the Caterpillar scraper the man hit weighed over 100,000 pounds and that it had no reflective materials.
The construction accident lawsuit is holding the city of Henderson, Nevada, the sub-contractor, the construction company, resort, and resort builder responsible for the wrongful death. The lawsuit is holding these parties responsible because the road is owned by the city, and the auto accident occurred because of a lack of safety on the part of the construction project or because they were negligent in implementing their safety plan.
The lawsuit says that in addition to not having any reflective materials, there were no signs, lights, people, or barriers to warn drivers that there was construction in the area or that a huge machine was blocking the road.
Negligent construction companies like this deserve to be held responsible for the wrongful deaths they cause. If they had implemented a safety plan correctly, the man’s family would not be dealing with his death. If you have lost a loved one in a construction accident, please contact an experienced personal injury lawyer in your area.
