The Accident Lawyers Network BlogAccident Lawyers NetworkMonday, February 9, 200913 Injured in Toledo-area School Bus AccidentA school bus and minivan collided on Friday, February 6th, in Springfield Township, Ohio. Thirteen people, including ten students, were taken to hospitals in the area. The school bus was taking the Toledo-area students to the school's aviation center where they were taking part in a program on aircraft mechanics at Toledo Express Airport. According to police, the bus was traveling westbound on Airport Highway when the eastbound minivan crossed the center of the road and hit the school bus just after noon. The bus was knocked onto its side and sent down an embankment. It is not known why the minivan crossed the center of the road. The students in the bus ranged in age between 16 and 18. Although none of them suffered life threatening injuries, all of them, as well as the bus driver, were transported to the hospital as a precaution. Both occupants of the minivan were trapped and needed to be extricated by rescuers. They were both airlifted to a hospital in Toledo. The driver has been listed in critical condition, and the passenger has been upgraded to fair condition.
