A 15-year-old boy, driving without a license or permit, took four other people on a joyride near Long Grove, Illinois, lost control of the vehicle, launched across the road, and crashed into some trees. Both the driver and a 14-year-old girl were killed. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. The three others, 15, 13, and 8-year-old brothers, were airlifted in critical condition to area hospitals.

The girl's family said she was supposed to be going to the store and didn't know she was in the car with the driver. The owner of the car said she loaned it to her friend because she thought he was 18. Charges may be filed against her.

The underage driver was reportedly speeding down a road known for several fatal crashes in the past. The road has hills people will try to catch air on, so they drive as fast as they can. People in the area would like something done about the design of the road, even if it means taking out the hills.
